-IR verbs — The Second Group (The Regular Model)

After learning -er verbs, the next easiest pattern is the second group (-ir verbs).

These verbs are also very regular and follow a clear, predictable structure.


Most verbs ending in -ir belong to this group.

They have one key feature:

Their plural forms contain -iss-

Example:

  • finir → nous finissons
